Dog treats and beers are available for your four-legged friend. Our dog treat suppliers are Sir Woofchester’s.

Says judge Giles Luckett: “Last year’s runner-up is this year’s winner. The Bell is a traditional country pub with an extensive menu ranging from the expected (Homemade Pies) to the exotic (Jackfruit burger). Most importantly, it’s dog-friendly and treats were provided on arrival. Portions were plentiful, there was a choice of alcohol-free beers – helpful as most people will have driven – and the staff were friendly and accommodating. It was also good value. They have rooms and it would be a fine place to stay as you explore the pretty village and the surrounding area.”

We have moved to a house 10 minuted away and fancied breakfast. Our house is a project and we have no cooking facilities yet and breakfast was called for.

Open fire, cosy feel bar, super selection of drinks and as for the food, without doubt the best food I have had in a long time whilst travelling.
I arrived late on my first day and the staff sorted out some food for me, nothing was too much trouble.
I will defo be staying her when needed for work and would use it as a base for a weekend break with the family.

It’s just been refurbished so everything was very clean and smart.
We ate in the restaurant twice and the food was excellent, well cooked and good-sized portions.
There wasn’t a single thing to find fault with, breakfast was lovely with dishes from eggs Benedict and eggs florentine to a full English. Treats were provided for our dog at every meal and there’s even a doggie menu that includes a roast or fish and chips!
Exactly what you’d look for for a couple of nights exploring the Suffolk countryside.

But the service was welcoming, efficient and really first rate. The lady who served us was so helpful and we got served really quickly along a relaxed atmosphere. The short rib of beef was melt in the mouth, a good sized, well priced portion of food. Not to mention the dessert, if their genius of a Greek chef has made her famous orange filo pie, make sure to leave some room, not to be missed!

1st December 2022 Excellent Christmas Meal - We are a village book group who use The Bell as our meeting place, and we like to have a Christmas meal together every year. The pub is always warm... read more and inviting, with a fire roaring and friendly staff. The food was excellent, compliments particularly forthcoming for the sea bream and veg wellington. The food was beautifully presented and service was prompt. We feel lucky to have such a fabulous local pub and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it. LouLou362
