Stag is a King bed in a cosy room with smaller ensuite shower, situated above the bar and kitchen area in the original part of the Pub with character and original features. This is one of the smaller rooms we have.

Excellent Christmas Meal - We are a village book group who use The Bell as our meeting place, and we like to have a Christmas meal together every year. The pub is always warm... read more and inviting, with a fire roaring and friendly staff. The food was excellent, compliments particularly forthcoming for the sea bream and veg wellington. The food was beautifully presented and service was prompt. We feel lucky to have such a fabulous local pub and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it.

Room was spotless, but small, and directly above the kitchen - chef clearly likes to shout! No bath, which was a shame, but a good shower which sadly ran cold every couple of minutes. Bed very squashy.
Evening meal was ok; I think I just made the wrong choice in the falafel burger. Husband’s pork belly looked beautiful, but sadly no crackling. Desserts were huge and tasty.
Breakfast was disappointing - small selection of cereals, no fruits, yoghurts or pastries. Full English was very small, just one rasher of bacon, one sausage, one mushroom, 1/2 tomato, baked beans and one deep fried hash brown.
Staff however are very friendly :)

23rd January 2023 Found this lovely pub just searching for something quiet and not too expensive for a night and so pleased with our choice. Lovely welcome by great , friendly people and... read more were able to check in early. Room was cosy, clean and a fan was already provided as it was warm. Beds were comfy and we had all we needed and our pooch was spoiled with treats. The evening meal was great, fast service even though very busy , superb atmosphere with a folk band who were quiet enough not to disturb us when we retired. Breakfast was just right. Parking very easy on private car park. For the price we paid £89, including breakfast,excellent value and we will visit again. 5 stars thoroughly deserved .

13th February 2022 Lovely country pub - Great food the venison was exquisite. Good portions, great for kids even supplied cutlery for my 2 year old, which is great as we always forget.
